제목 Ease of dehydration of binary (water/isopropanol) and ternary azeotropes (water/isopropanol/epichlorohydrin) of water by pervaporation process using polymeric membrane
초록 The membranes from blending of hydrophilic polymers namely poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and poly (vinyl amine) (PVAm) stabilized it in the water using the chemical crosslinking method by glutaraldehyde used as crosslinking agent were prepared. The total four, amidst one is reference and three different amount of blending of above polymers membrane we fabricated. All the membrane we employed for pervaporation dehydration of binary and ternary feed mixture system for water azeotropes. The optimum membrane were determined, it was found that, for water and isopropanol mixture, the PVA/PVAm (5: 1.5) showed the highest pervaporation performance and for water/IPA/ECH feed mixture system, the reference (PVA-glutaraldehyde crosslinked membrane)was found to be the best membrane. It was observed from the obtained pervaporation data of water-isopropanol and water/IPA/ECH that, the membrane acted as third phase to effectively break the azeotropes of water
