In this study, nano-sized Ag colloid was prepared by wire explosion which is a physical process providing high concentration of Ag and efficient control of particle size. To enhance the dispersion stability, poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) with different molecular weight was added after fabrication of Ag colloid. Also, Ag+ ions produced by wire explosion were reduced to Ag0 by alcohol-reduction method as a further treatment. In this process, alcohol acts as both a solvent and a reducing agent. All the characteristics of Ag colloid were analyzed by UV-vis spectrophotometer, DLS, TEM, and XPS. |
