제목 In-Vitro Multi Axial Creep Detection of Clear Aligner for Orthodontic Treatment
초록 Orthodontic clear aligner has obtained the great interest in the last decade as a substitute for a fixed orthodontic treatment, and clear aligners are characterized by a stepwise correction for malocclusions. For their each steps, a clear aligner has to provide gentle force over the time, comfortable to wear, and invisibility during the full course of use.
In this study, we have aimed to investigate the creep force and momentum of clear aligners with brand, thickness, or manufacturing methods on clinical based 3 dimensional mal-occlusion mandibular tooth model by multi-axial load cell system.
Clear aligner specimens were prepared by thermo-forming (conventional transparent sheet) or 3D printing. The mal-occlusion mandibular tooth model was fabricated by 3D printing based on clinical casting image which was constructed by rotating of central incisor by 5 degrees in the disto-mesial direction or not (normal occlusion). The creep test between clear aligner and tooth models were performed by multi axial load cell (Nano-17, ATI, US) to measure the value of reducing force and momentum over the time (1~3 days) with 3 dimensional direction (xyz).
Our final goal of this experiment was to confirm the mechanical test method of clear aligner with clinical environment by effect of materials, design, and manufacturing methods to establish the In-Vitro test protocol.
