Preparation of Ethylene/Propylene/Butylene Terpolymer Foam |

Industries are looking for application for an inexpensive materials to reduce costs and to provide better functional than with current materials. Polypropylene (PP) is one of the candidates. Ethylene/propylene/butylene terpolymer were used to improve foaming ability of PP. Experiments were performed in order to study the effects of the blowing ratio and cell structure. Then foaming condition were changed. Dicumyl peroxide(DCP) and sulfur have been used to induce the crosslinking of ethylene/propylene /butylene terpolymer within an internal mixer. Thermal and morphological properties were also studied. The blowing ratio increased with an increase in blowing agent concentration until 5phr. The blowing ratio increased with an increase in peroxide and sulfur concentration until 1.60phr each. |
