A new fluorescent chemosensor for Cu2+ based on Rhodamine 6G moiety of Ethanol hydrazine was easily synthesized and investigated for photophysical properties. Rhodamine 6G derivated fluorescent sensor2 displayed highly selective and sensitive fluorescent “turn on” toward Cu2+ in DMSO : Acetonitrile 1:9 solution. And various metal ions including Ag+, K+, Li+, Na+, Ca2+, Cd2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Zn2+, Ba2+, Mg2+,Fe2+,Ce+,Al3+ caused less or smaller spectral changes. Interestingly, when copper ion coexists with mercury ion, the intensity of absorbance and fluorescence increase about 9 times. The 1:2 stoichiometry of sensor complex 1+ Cu2+ was confirmed by Job’s plot based on fluorescence emission titration. |
