Drug loaded anionic carbohydrates and antioxidants nanocomplex that stimulated by reactive oxygen species for cancer therapy |

In this study, an anionic carbohydrates and antioxidants nanocomplex was designed for stimulation via reactive oxygen species (ROS). A chemotherapeutic agent was loaded in the nanocomplex through intermolecular stacking effect. The morphology and size of the nanocomplex were controlled by antioxidants contents. The nanocomplex has sufficiently amount chemotherapeutic agent for toxicity to cancer cells. The ROS stimulated drug releasing of the nanocomplex was demonstrated that more effective than absence of antioxidant formulation. A chemotherapeutic agent releasing was promoted via structural disruption of complex by ROS. Moreover, a cancer therapeutic efficacy was demonstrated in tumor bearing mice. nanocomplex was showed cancer therapeutic efficacy in in vivo that confirmed by H&E and TUNEL assay. The nanocomplex presents of cancer targeting and tumor growth inhibition. Thus, designed nanocomplex has encouraging methods for cancer therapy. |
