A novel diamine monomer, bis(3-aminophenyl)-(poly(propylene glycol)monobutyl ether)phenyl phosphine oxide (mDAPGPPO), was synthesized via Williamson ether reaction from bis(3-aminophenyl)-4-fluorophenyl phosphine oxide and poly(propylene glycol)monobutyl ether (1k, 2.5k, 4k). The monomer was characterized by FT-IR and NMR, and then utilized as a comonomer for the polyimides with 3,6-di[3’,5’-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]pyromellitic dianhydride (12FPMDA) and bis(3-aminophenyl)-3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl phosphine oxide (mDA6FPPO). The polyimides were characterized by FT-IR, NMR, GPC, TGA and DSC, and solubility, intrinsic viscosity, dielectric constant and refractive index were also measured. The polyimides were used to prepare nanofoam by casting on glass substrates, followed by slow heating 300°C to remove solvent and then aging at 300°C for 9h in air. The nanofoams were subjected to the measurement of dielectric constant and characterization by TEM and SAXS. |
