Cellulose is one of the promising precursors for the preparation of carbonaceous materials because biomass-based materials are abundant, renewable, and inexpensive. In this study, porous carbon films were prepared by two step heat treatment of cellulose non-woven fabrics: stabilization and carbonization. Cellulose non-woven fabrics were stabilized in air and then carbonized under inert atmosphere. The prepared porous carbon films were characterized in terms of their thermal, electrical and chemical properties, crystalline structures, surface morphology, and electrochemical properties. |
