In this work, the different membranes were recycled and their electrochemical properties as membrane separators for lithium-ion batteries are reviewed. Since separator provides a physical barrier between the cathode and anode to prevent electrical short circuits, it is a critical component of lithium-ion batteries. Among reviewed eggshell membranes, the eggshell membrane of chicken shows the smooth surface with higher amount of protein fiber and smaller pore between fibers. Further, the batteries with eggshell membranes of chicken indicates the substitutive option for traditional separator. |
