LiNixCoyMn1-x-yO2 (NCM) has been regarded as one of the most promising alternative cathode materials owing to its high discharge capacity and low cost. However, its severe capacity degradation and poor rate capability under high cutoff voltage, resulting from side reactions at the interfacial of the electrodes, indeed limit its extensive application. In this study, we develop a facile route for synthesizing hybrid composites, which are composed of NCM and carbon by using soybean oil. The NCM/C composites exhibited superior electrochemical performance with higher reversible capacity, cycling stability, and rate capability compared to the pure NCM. This demonstrates the potential for the use of NCM/C composites as a composite cathode in high-performance lithium ion batteries. |
