제목 Solid-state 13C NMR Characterization of the Molecular Structure of Polyacrylonitrile Ultrafiltration Membrane Treated in Alkaline Media
초록 Alkaline hydrolysis of polyacrylonitrile ultrafiltration membrane containing about 10% of vinyl acetate random units was studied by means of solid-state 13C NMR spectroscopy. Each carbon sites of the polymer membrane before and after alkaline treatments were unambiguously assigned by 1D and 2D NMR methods. Changes in the molecular structure of the membrane were observed as a function of the reaction time in alkaline media. Some of the acrylonitirle monomeric units were converted to sodium acrylates during the course of reaction at pH 13. Spin counting experiments indicated that the amount of the reacted acrilonitrile monomer units was estimated to be less than 4% even after 96 hours of the alkaline treatment. Analyses of the 13C CPMAS NMR spectra indicated that the structural conversion was rapid in the early our of the reaction, and that the conversion reaction was almost complete within 6 hours.
