Polyetheramines (PEAs) have many applications in various chemical industries including curing agent for epoxy resins, cross-linking agents for textile and plasticizers. In our experiment, PEA is prepared by reductive amination process, which involves reaction of methoxy-Polyethylene glycol (mPEG) with ammonia and hydrogen over Co type catalyst. mPEG is treated with ammonia and hydrogen at a temperature of 200-250℃ and pressure of 50-150 bar in batch reactor. The catalyst used in this reaction is considered to balance between dehydrogenation and hydrogenation. The main object of this study is to develop an effective catalyst for the amination of mPEG and to find proper condition for PEA with high selectivity. |
