Photopatrning of poly(1,3,4-oxadiazole)s for Electro- optical switching |

A fluorescence switching property of poly(1,3,4-oxadiazole) derivatives (POD) containing long alkyl chain for high solubility were investigated for the application of electro active fluorescent polymer in electro-optical device. Thin films of PODs were prepared by spin-coating to give highly fluorescent film, and then the electrical device containing the film was fabricated to modulate the emission intensity by external potential. Using a photochemical reaction, the POD film was directly patterned and the image was recorded using the photo-mask. The device showed reversible fluorescence switching in response to external voltage and patterned images were shown under UV. |
