제목 Photo-dependent release from Poly(vinyl alcohol)/epoxypropoxy coumarin alginate bead
초록 Poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) was modified by epoxypropoxy coumarine (EPC). The polymer was cross-linked by photo-dimerizing coumarin pendants. We prepared Interpenetrating Polymer Network (IPN) consisting of PVA-EPC and sodium alginate. The viscosities of PVA-EPC(5% w/v) and sodium alginate(0.5% w/v) mixture were significantly increased by irradiation of light(λ = 254 nm 6W). An aqueous solution of PVA-EPC and sodium alginate could be form IPN bead by dropping into calcium chrolide solution, irradiaton of a light (λ = 365 nm, 400 W) for 1 hr while stiring. The release of blue dextran from IPN beads was significantly enhanced by the 5 min-irradiation of light(λ = 254 nm 6W), possibly due to the photo-dedimerization of EPC residues of the bead.
