Preparation of Al/MoO3 Nanothermites and Their Combustion Behavior |

Al/MoO3 nanocomposites were prepared by two different methods, a sol-gel and an ultrasonic mixing method. The phases of prepared MoO3 xerogels were characterized by TGA/DSC, FT-IR and SEM. It was found that the exothermic heat enthalpy of Al/MoO3 nanocomposites by ultrasonic mixing is much higher than those by sol-gel and thus the ultrasonic mixing method is more efficient due to that almost of all Al particles were reacted at the first thermite exothermic reaction. |
