제목 Bimodally-porous Alumina with Tunable Mesopore and Macropore for Efficient Organic Adsorbents
초록 Since it is of great importance to remove aqueous pollutants for distributing clean water, the adsorption of toxic chemicals on solid adsorbents has been the most practical technique. As one of the widely-accepted designs for an adsorbent, structurally-connected large and small pore networks take several advantages. Porous alumina is widely used as a catalyst, catalytic support, and adsorbent. However, most synthesis methods are hard to control the pore size due to complex and cost-ineffective multi-steps.
In this study, we synthesized bimodally-porous alumina (BPA) as an adsorbent of Congo red due to its easy structural engineering in crystal structure, textural properties, and morphology. The BPA was fabricated by tuning H2O/Al3+ ratio with a macropore template for mesoporosity and macroporosity, respectively. Additionally, we pelletized BPA to be recycled without sacrificing removal efficiency for a continuous adsorption system.
