제목 | The hook-shaped flexible probe for long-term implantation in adrenal gland in vivo |
초록 | The implantable neural probe that can capture biological signals such as spike and local field potentials (LFP) from neighboring neurons is now applied in many field include research, industry and medical uses. However there are a number of limitations and obstacles of applying it to non-neuronal organs of body such as circulation and endocrine organs. The biggest obstacles are the micro-motion and vibration of the internal cavity of the body. They prevent the probe to be fixed in one specific position in the targeted organ. Thus, we made hook-shaped flexible probe that can simply penetrate the organ and be fixed by its own geometrical shape. The hook-shaped probe could record cellular activities of rat’s adrenal gland in vivo for 4 weeks and also could stimulate adrenal gland electrically. The probe could modulate blood sugar level of the rat around 28% by electric stimulation. Moreover, the rat had more than 90% of survivability because of its great biocompatibility. |
