Monodispersed micron-size polystyrene particles prepared by dispersion polymerization |
| 초록 |
The preparation skills of monodispersed micron-size polymer particles can lead the way to making specific structures for various applications such as standard calibration, spacers, and catalytic substrates. In this study, the copolymer particles having micron size are prepared using dispersion polymerization. Monomers are styrene and 4-vinylpridine. Polymerization is done without any stabilizer. The effects of various parameters such as styrene content in monomer mixtures, media for dispersion, reaction temperature, and shear rate for agitation on the particle size and molecular weight of copolymer particles are studied in detail. |
