Detection of Alternariol using Highly Sensitive and Reproducible SERS Substrate |

In this study, surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) detection of alternariol, one of major alternaria mycotoxins, was conducted using silver nanoparticle-embedded silica nanoparticle (SiO2@Ag NP) as a highly sensitive and reproducible SERS substrate. During Raman measurements, the laser was focused on the dispersion of alternariol-adsorbed SiO2@Ag NP. Raman intensity of alternariol showed good linearity in proportional to the concentration of alternariol from 16 to 1,000 nM with a detection limit of 4.83 nM. Moreover, RSD values (2.33 to 5.95%) of the intensity of alternariol represent superior signal reproducibility of the introduced SERS substrate. |
