제목 Stimuli-Responsive Properties of Novel Polybetaine Gels
초록 The stimuli-responsive properties of novel hydrogels based on alkyl derivatives of ethyl 3-aminocrotonate and acrylic (methacrylic) acid were studied in dependence of pH, ionic strength, water-organic solvent mixtures, complexation with metal ions, and as a function of DC electric field. The hydrogels showed a continuous collapsing behavior in the case of pH and ionic strength stimuli. Discontinuous collapsing of hydrogels was observed in water-acetone and water-ethanol mixtures. A bending of the hydrogel specimen to the anode or cathode side under the externally imposed DC electric field was found. The shrinking and swelling phenomena in the course of sorption and desorption of copper(II) ions by hydrogels were also demonstrated.
