제목 Synthesis of Cadmium Chalcogenide Nanowires with Branched Structure
초록 Cadmium chalcogenide nanostructures are potential candidates for applications in solar cells, light-dependent resistors, or other photo-electronic devices. In this article, we report the synthesis of branched cadmium chalcogenide semiconductor nanowires. These kinds of branched nanowires were synthesized via a vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) mechanism. The morphology and microstructure of the nanowires were measured by scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The result showed that the branched stems were vertically aligned on the surface of main stems and low melting point metal catalysts played the key roles in synthesizing this special structure. Much higher sensitive sensors might be fabricated using this kind of branched nanowires because of their unique structures. And this quasi-self-catalyst growth property might be applied to the growth of nanowires on many kinds of substrates, which might show wide applications in many fields.
