Caffeic acid is able to be utilized at various fields of cosmetics and medicines because it outperform as antioxidant and it can blocks UV-A. However, it is necessary to improve its solubility in certain solvent since its solubility is too low, i.e., 0.64mg/ml at 25℃ in distilled water. In order to investigate solubility of caffeic acid, caffeic acid was dissolved in distilled water, purified water, acidic water and alkaline water heated at various temperature in water bath. Concentration changes of caffeic acid solution at different temperature and solvent were analyzed by UV-vis spectrometer and solubility of caffeic acid in each solvent was compared to each other. |
