제목 Experimental and Theoretical Study of Stress Overshoot Behavior of Concentrated Xanthan Gum Solutions
초록 In this study, using a strain-controlled rheometer, stress overshoot behavior on start-up of steady shear flow for concentrated xanthan gum solutions with various concentrations was investigated at a number of shear rates. The experimentally observed transient behavior was interpreted from a structural viewpoint of gel-like materials. Moreiver, a time-strain separable constitutive equation employing the Wagner and the Soskey-Winter damping functions was used in order to predict the transient rheological behavior of concentrated xanthan gum solutions on start-up of steady shear flow. The Bird-Leider empirical model was also used to quantitatively describe the same rheological behavior.
