A thermochemical hydrogen (TCH) sensor with low detection limit was fabricated by chalcogenide nanowire/polymer composite with graphene-based Pt catalyst. Output voltage signal is transformed from temperature difference of top and bottom electrodes generated by exo/endothermal reaction. Hydrogen oxidation reaction over Pt/graphene catalyst was exothermically proceeded at room temperature. The graphene based Pt catalyst intrigued stable properties at high temperature & humidity, and high thermal conductivity. These properties can reduce noise of signal and enhance limitation of detecting concentration. Moreover, the Pt/graphene catalyst paste is coatable on the top electrode of composite. The composite TCH sensor, which is composed only of Bi2Te3 nanowire, PMMA showed an output signal of 30 μV in response to 0.1 vol% hydrogen gas at room temperature. |
