제목 Microbial Fuel Cell Equipped with Polypyrrole-Modified Carbon Nanofiber Composite Electrode for Bioenergy Generation
초록 Microbial fuel cell is electrochemical devices that spontaneously convert chemical energy into electrical energy using biochemical pathways and microorganisms as the biocatalysts. The power output of the microbial fuel cell is too low for practical applications, which is mainly due to the difficult electron transfer between bacterial cells and extracellular electrode. Hence, it is essential to select an appropriate material for electrode or to modify the anode surface with certain electro active species that can facilitate electron transfer. The aim of this research was to examine polypyrrole-modified carbon nanofiber composite electrode through a polypyrrole coating on the surface of the carbon nanofibers as the novel electrode material in microbial fuel cell systems.
