Synthesis and Characterization of Poly(L-lactide-alt-carbonate) via Polycondensation |

Poly(L-lactide) (PLLA) has good mechanical strength, processibility and biodegradability, while it has low thermal stability. In this study we synthesized poly(L-lactide-alt-carbonate) (PLPC) at 35℃ by condensation reaction to increase the thermal resistance. By-product was eliminated by the preselected co-catalyst. The structure of the PLPC was characterized by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H NMR). The molecular weight of the prepolymer and the copolymer were confirmed by gel permeation chromatography (GPC). Measurement of thermal properties was done by thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). |
