제목 Commercially available smart windows via thermotropic polymers
초록 Thermotropic materials have sensitivity for external thermal changes. Especially PNIPAm (Poly n-isopropylacrylamide) polymers as thermotropic material in smart windows have the critical temperature, so called phase change temperature, at approximately 33℃ and show the proper change in transmittance commercially.
We obtained the PNIPAm polymers by radical polymerization using initiator, and loaded between two glasses. PNIPAm polymers between two glasses shows outstanding reversibility to transmittance between the higher and the lower temperature than phase change temperature for Sunlight, high transparency with low hazy in clear state (below LCST), and the long time stability.  
Therefore, thermo-responsive materials like PNIPAm polymers can be good candidate materials for smart windows.
