제목 | Characterization of organic light-emitting diodes with modified Alq3 |
초록 | Electroluminescence (EL) and charge transport in organic thin films have attracted strong interest because of their potential use for organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) Electroluminescence of an organic material was first reported in the 1960s with anthracene crystals, but the quantum efficiency was not good enough for practical use. A breakthrough was made in 1987 by Tang and VanSlyke at the Eastman Kodak Co. In this paper, fluorescent metal complexes have been synthesized by modified Alq3 and used for organic light-emitting diodes. We have concentrated on the studies of small molecules, because they are easy to handle in conventional vacuum deposition equipment. The metal complexes with new ligands showed bright emission in electroluminescent (EL) cells. |
