제목 Fabrication of Photo-crosslinkable hydrogel bilayer for an embolic material
초록 New type of hydrogel embolic coil is introduced for treatment of cerebral aneurysms. The price and effectiveness of hydrogel coil is superior to that of existing platinum coil. The new embolic coil consists of hydrogel bilayer which was synthesized using lithography technique. UV light irradiation was conducted through narrow gap of chrome photo mask. Poly (acrylic acid) (AA) was photo-crosslinked using poly(ethylene glycol) dimethacrylate (PEGDM) as crosslinking agent and irgacure as photo initiator. Triiodobenzoyloxyethyl (TIBOM), also, was photo-crosslinked with AA and PEGDM in order to maintain radio-opacity. Transparency is strongly required for pre-gel solution of photo-crosslinked hydrogel. That is the reason why we used iodine component instead of metal particles for radio opacity acquisition. Different from existing chemically-linked hydrogel bilayer, photo-crosslinked hydrogel coil is easy to fabricate and takes less time to synthesize.
