To study the effect of the substituent on improvement of color purity for red light-emitting material used in organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), properties of photoluminescence (PL) and electroluminescence (EL) for (2Z,2'Z)-3,3'-[4,4''-bis(dimethylamino)-1,1':4',1''-terphenyl-2',5'-diyl]bis(2-phenylacrylonitrile) (ABCV-P) and (2Z,2'Z)-3,3'-[4,4''-bis(dimethylamino)-1,1':4',1''-terphenyl-2',5'-diyl]bis(4-cyanophenyl-acetonitrile) (ABCV-CP) having a strong electron withdrawing cyano group at the side of electron acceptor were measured. PL and EL peak wavelength of ABCV-P were 579nm and 583nm, those of ABCV-CP were 666nm and 709nm. The result supported that strong electron withdrawing cyano group in ABCV-CP strongly shipped peak wavelength of PL and EL to much longer wavelength. |
