제목 The synthesis of sulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone) for fuel cell
초록 The ion-conducting sulfonated polymeric materials used with the present study are formed by the direct polymerization of sulfonated monomers. By using sulfonation in the polymerization process, the concerntration of sulfonated monomers may be varied with respect to an unsulfonated monomer and a comonomer to control the concerntration of sulfonated groups in resulting copolymer.
By starting with the sulfonated monomer, followed by direct polymerization, sulfonated groups are maintained on the deactivated ring.
By controlling the concentration and location of sulfonate groups in the polymer, the various characterizations of the resulting membrane such as conductivity and water content, may be controlled.
