Polymer-based thermal interface materials (TIMs) requires low thermal conductivity. It can be enhanced with introducing high thermally conductive fillers. Among them, boron nitride (BN) which is one of 2D nanomaterials with a similar structure to graphene has been widely used due to its high thermal conductivity. However, when incorporating BN into polymers, severe agglomeration is occurred owing to strong interaction between layers of BN. Therefore, to solve dispersion of BN within polymer matrix, we modified BN and incorporated in poly(vinyl alcohol) as matrix of nanocomposites. The results were confirmed by FT-IR, XPS, and SEM. |
