Analysis method for efficiency roll-off and its applications to single host, mixed host, and exciplex forming co-host system |

A modified model has been established to account the effects of the contributions of quenching processes and charge carrier imbalance on efficiency roll-off including the exciton profile, effective radiative quantum efficiency and out-coupling efficiency as a function of location of excitons in emitting layer (EML). By combining electrical and optical excitation in time-resolved spectroscopic experiments, the contributions of quenching and charge carrier imbalance to efficiency roll-off are experimentally analysed. In addition, the exciton profiles and the width of recombination zone in EML are identified by a sensing layer method. The analysis method are applied to three different phosphorescent organic lighting emitting diodes (PhOLEDs) systems using a single host, non-exciplex forming mixed host, and an exciplex forming co-host. |
