Pluronic F127 is a conventional biomaterial for injectable hydrogel by its temperature responsive sol-gel transition due to a micelle packing mechanism. However, its application as a therapeutic carrier is limited due to low stability and poor mechanical properties in vivo application. In this study, the strong supramolecular complex is utilized to improve the rheological properties and enhance drug and protein binding affinity. Modified F127 polymer forming supramolecular assembly makes a strong bond between micelles. Resulted injectable hydrogel showed a significant enhancement of rheological properties compared to conventional F127 based gel. This hydrogel maintains its original volume more than 100 days which is a lot longer than normal F127 hydrogel which dissolves in 1~2 days. Moreover, supramolecular assembly based hydrogel can be utilized as drug or protein delivery. Thus, this novel injectable hydrogel is a potential candidate as stable biomolecules carrier. |
