제목 | Non-oxidative direct conversion of methane over bimetallic catalysts |
초록 | Methane is mainly used as a fuel, but it is attracting attention as a feedstock for the production of chemicals. Methane also has a higher global warming potential than carbon dioxide when released into the atmosphere, so its wise use for carbon neutrality is important. Conversion of methane without an oxidizing agent has the advantage of co-producing hydrogen without generating carbon dioxide. Of these, the direct conversion of methane has the potential to increase the overall energy efficiency. However, controlling radical-based chemical pathways at high reaction temperatures is a challenge. In this presentation, we will present the selective production of hydrocarbons from methane using bimetallic catalysts. We designed iron-based alloy catalysts to elucidate the roles of active sites for both the initial C-H bond activation of methane and the secondary reactions through C-C bond coupling. Through this, we will discuss strategies to minimize coke selectivity in the non-oxidized conversion of methane. |
