제목 pH Responsive catalytic system based on poly (methacrylic acid) functionalized SBA-15 for the reductive decolorization of industrial dyes
초록 In recent years, industrial dyes have been considered as an extremely hazardous for the environmental pollution. Removal of these contaminants remain a big challenge for the scientific society. Therefore, an efficient strategy for the reduction of dyes has been adopted. Herein, a pH-responsive poly (methacrylic acid) functionalized SBA-15 was synthesized via free radical polymerization using potassium persulfate as the initiator and then decorated with silver nanoparticle. The synthesized catalyst was characterized by using various sophisticated analytical techniques. The composition of metal nanoparticle in Ag-SBA-15-PMAA were confirmed by XPS and TEM-EDS analysis. The resultant Ag-SBA-15-PMAA catalyst was used for the reduction of various industrial dyes .Compared to any other synthesized catalysts, Ag-SBA-15-PMAA showed higher activity for the reduction reaction. The catalyst was successfully recovered and could be reused without obvious losses of catalytic activity.
