Cathode interfacial layers (CILs), bromo PO-TAZ and CN PO-TAZ were introduced between the ZnO and photoactive layer; poly[4,8-bis[(2-ethylhexyl)oxy]benzo[1,2- b:4,5-b’]dithiophene-2,6-diyl][3-fluoro-2-[(2- ethylhexyl)carbonyl] thieno[3,4-b]-thiophenediyl] (PTB7) and [6,6]-phenyl C71-butyric acid methyl ester (PC71BM) for the inverted organic solar cells. The CILs significantly uplift the device performance with suppression of charge recombination and facilitation of charge extraction. It is analyzed that the devices with CILs showed the higher electron mobility which matches with the higher fill factor and improved dark current. Therefore, cathode interfacial materials (CIMs) with ZnO exhibited a significant enhancement in their power conversion efficiency (PCE) comparable devices without the CIMs based interfacial layer and also served as an internal shield against humidity, which helps to increase device stability as well. |
