Patterned growth of mammalian cells on the surface of a silicone rubber by usingion beam-induced surface modification |
초록 |
In this research, we studied the patterned growth of mammalian cells on the surface of a silicone rubber patterned by ion beam irradiation. The surface property of the irradiated silicone rubber was characterized by water contact angle and FT-IR analyses. It was observed that human (HEK293) or mouse (L929) fibroblast cells exhibit strong adhesion on the irradiated silicone surfaces. This enhanced adhesion of mammalian cells can be attributed to the increase in the hydrophilicity of the silicone surface by ion beam irradiation. |
