Hyperbranched polymers are class of polymers which bridge gap between completely linear polymers and the perfectly branched macromolecules such as dendrimers. These polymers are prepared by the reaction of AB2 monomers in which A and B are functional groups capable of reacting with each other to form stable bond. Amphiphilic block copolymers which have hydrophilic and hydrphobic properties are utilized as emulsifiers, dispersions, compatibilizers, and futher drug deliveries. In this study, we synthesized difunctional hydrophilic poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) macroinitiators by reacting 2-bromopropionyl bromide. The amphiphilic hyperbranched polymers contained ethylene glycol core and hyperbranched poly [2-(2-bromopropionyloxy)ethyl acrylate] arms were synthesized by atom trasfer radical polymerization. Synthesized amphiphilic block copolymers were characterized by 1H-NMR and GPC, also measured CMC values of the polymers |
