The development of flexible optoelectronic devices needs a stretchable and transparent electrode. Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have been considered as an appropriate material for the applications, such as flexible displays and bio-integrated devices, because the mechanical flexibility and transparency of single-walled carbon nanotubes enables to make stretchable electrodes with high transparency. Here, we report a fabrication of stretchable and transparent CNT electrodes via self-assembly of CNTs in the pattern. The mesh-patterned structure provides a great advantage to improve the stretchability because the mesh-shape is deformable without the break of junctions between CNT networks. As a result, the mesh-patterned electrodes endured strain with less increase of sheet resistance than the electrode of randomly networks at the same level of strain. The mesh-patterned structure also exhibits a much better stability than randomly deposited film after 500 cycles with a strain of 30 %. |
