Silicone rubber is one of element-organic polymers, which belongs to non-oil resources, and widely used in electronic, aerospace, biomedical fields. Epoxidation is a simple and effective chemical modification method to improve oil-resistance and hydrophilicity, and also a significant reaction for further chemical modification. The preparation of epoxidized methyl vinyl silicone rubber (VMQ) was prepared by in-situ method, formic acid-hydrogen peroxide generated performic acid, and polyethylene glycol (PEG) as phase transfer catalyst. The effect of PEG/VMQ (mass ratio), formic acid/VMQ (mass ratio), hydrogen peroxide/formic acid (mole ratio), mass concentration of VMQ, reaction temperature and time were investigated. The epoxidation degree of epoxidized VMQ were characterized by chemical titration, FTIR and 1H-NMR. |
