제목 Perfluorinated ionomer nanodispersion and its fuel cells and hydrogen generation applications
초록 Perfluorinated ionomers are fluoropolymer materials containing side chains with fixed charged ions at the terminal ends to transport their counter ions. The ionomer materials are classified into cation-conducting ionomers and anion-conducting ionomers. Among them, the cation-conducting ionomers have been used as the state of the art membrane and electrode binder materials in the fields of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells and water electrolysis owing to high proton conductivity and chemical resistance under their electrochemical reactions. The ionomer materials have, however, been suffering from fast hydrogen crossover. Meanwhile, perfluorinated anion-conducting ionomers are expected to solve critical problems (e.g., low hydroxide conductivity and poor chemical durability) observed in commercially available ionomers. In this presentation, we introduce nanodispersed PFSA ionomer concept as a powerful solution to these critical technical issues.
