Ionic Conductivity of Amphiphilic SBS-g-POEM Copolymer Electrolytes for Solid-state Flexible Supercapacitors |

An amphiphilic block-graft copolymer, i.e., poly(styrene-b-butadiene-b-styrene)-g-poly(oxyethylene methacrylate) (SBS-g-POEM) was synthesized via facile free-radical polymerization. It exhibited the good ion conducting property and mechanical strength resulting from SBS and POEM. By controlling the ratio of SBS to POEM and POEM chain length, the microphase-separated structure and property of copolymer were optimized. The selective-interaction between lithium salt and microphase-separated POEM contributed to the high ionic conductivity. The solid-state electrolyte consisted of SBS-g-POEM, LiTFSI and PC exhibited excellent supercapacitive performance, which was superior to that of conventional PVA/H3PO4 electrolyte. The highly ion conductive electrolyte based on SBS-g-POEM copolymer has great potential to apply other energy device like Li-ion batteries |
