제목 Contact angle measurement for reverse osmosis membrane
초록 The measurement of contact angle for membranes depends on surface hydrophilicity/ hydrophobicity, roughness, porosity, pore size, and its distribution. Former two factors are interacted each other and latter three factors can be negligible since the pores of RO membrane are extremely small. If a RO membrane has very rough surface, then the contact angle value may become very higher than another smoother RO membrane although both membranes are of similar hydrophilic circumstances. In addition, the effect of drop (bubble) size on contact angle measurement has important role to determine the value of contact angle. Therefore, this study is to investigate appropriate method of contact angle measurement for RO membrane by sessile drop method and captive bubble method.
