For the fabrication of flexible lead-free piezoelectric nanofibers, the mixture of sintered BNT-ST (0.78Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3-0.22SrTiO3) ceramic and a polyvinylidenefluoride (PVDF) polymer was electrospun. The as-spun BNT-ST/PVDF nanofibers were attached between the bottom and top interdigitated copper electrode films by Warm Isotropic Press (WIP) process, and then the high voltage of 1 kV was applied to the BNT-ST/PVDF nanofiber sensor modules. The XRD results indicated that the BNT-ST perovskite structure was undisturbed during the composite process with the PVDF polymer and electrospinning process. The SEM and element mapping results showed that a BNT-ST ceramic particles were well dispersed in the PVDF nanofiber matrix. For structural health monitoring sensor application, the BNT-ST/PVDF nanofiber sensor modules were directly attached on the various structure, and the sensor characteristics of the piezoelectric nanofiber sensor modules was monitored by measuring the output voltage by simulating several situations. |
