제목 pH-dependent release from monoolein cubic phase containing Hydrophobically Modified Chitosan(HM-chitosan)
초록 The lamellar structure, an inverted hexagonal phase, or a bicotinuous inverted cubic phase could be obtained when the monoolein (MO) is put in water. In this work, MO was hydrated in hydrophobically modified chitosan (HM-chitosan) in order to prepare cubic phases. According to the results, the release from the cubic phases was pH-sensitive. In fact, the HM-chitosan in water channels of cubic phases will exhibit a contracted or extended form in terms of change pH due to the deionization of carboxyl groups in HM-chitosan, and the diffusion rates through the water channels would be affected by the phenomena. That is the reason why the release properties from cubic phases will depend on the pH. Beside, the ionic strength in the medium will also affect the release. In conclusion, this kind of cubic phase could be used as a pH-sensitive carrier for drug delivery.
