제목 Efficient one-step synthesis of laurolactam via Beckmann rearrangement
초록 Polyamide 12 (PA 12) is an important subgroup of polyamide based thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) because it is used as a hard segment in PA 12 elastomers. The demand for PA-12 in the global market has been kept high due to its excellent chemical and mechanical properties. Laurolactam is one of the most important monomers of PA 12, and many studies have already been made on its synthesis. However, it is still necessary to study for domestic industry development because leading companies do not disclose their patents, In this study, we represent an efficient one-step synthetic process for laurolactam from a commercially available cyclododecanone via Beckmann rearrangement reaction. Through optimization of reaction conditions, it was possible to generate oxime from cyclododecanone and rearrangement to laurolactam by one-step reaction. In addition, we have confirmed the industrial applicability of this process through scale-up, high-concentration experiments.
