The design of new bioactive scaffolds mimicking the physiologic environment present during tissue formation is an important frontier in biomaterials research. We developed the silk fiber mixed Silk/PLGA scaffolds for the possibility of the application of the tissue engineering using Raw 264.7 cell. Silk/PLGA (contents 0%, 5%, 10%, 20% and 30% of PLGA weight) scaffolds were prepared by solvent casting/salt leaching method. We characterized swelling test of Silk/PLGA scaffold. We were measured compressive strength to characterized mechanical property. We seeded Raw264.7 isolated from the mouse into the inner core of the hybrid scaffold. Celluar viability were assayed by MTT test. We confirmed that Silk/PLGA scaffold is hydrophilic by swelling test measurement results. In MTT assay results, cell viability in scaffolds impregnated 20 and 30 wt% of silk were higher than other scaffolds. In conclusion, we suggest that Silk/PLGA scaffold may be useful to tissue engineering applications. |
