Cellulose-derived Porous Carbon Films for Supercapacitors |

In this study, cellulose-derived porous carbon films were prepared by two step thermal treatments: stabilization in air and carbonization under inert atmosphere. The stabilization step was found to improve the carbonization yield. The analytical results revealed that the prepared porous carbon films had pseudo-graphitic structures. The surface area and sheet resistance decreased with increasing carbonization temperature. The specific capacitance at a current density of 1 A/g increased to ~240 F/g with an increasing carbonization temperature due to the higher electrical properties. The cycling life test showed outstanding capacitance retention as well as high coulombic efficiency after 10,000 cycle at a high current density of 10 A/g. |
