Effects of thermal properties on the anorthite (CaAl2Si2O8)-diopside (CaMgSi2O6) / BN composites were investigated as a function of BN content (x). The crystallization behaviors of anorthite-diopside / BN composites were confirmed from the glass transition temperature (Tg), the peak temperature of crystallization (Tp), density, and cahin linkages. Those specimens were prepared by two step sintering method for increasing of degree of crystallization and density. The thermal conductivity and diffusivity of rhe sintered specimens were dependent on BN content, and these properties were increased with BN content, due to the increase of the crystallite size and the decrease of porosity. However, the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) was decreased with increasing of BN content, because the degree of crystallization of the specimens was decreased. The microstructures of the specimens were also discussed. |
